Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros Re-Issues Out Today

Hellcat Records proudly announces the re- release of three classic albums from the legendary Joe Strummer and his band The Mescalaeros. The albums Rock Art and the X-Ray Style, Global A Go-Go and Streetcore, will be re-issued today on CD and vinyl format which include a comprehensive collection of recorded music, hard to find b-sides and never before heard impassioned live performances that highlights three superb albums.

Rock Art & The X Ray Style opened Joe Strummer's great final act - three excellent albums recorded along with the Mescaleros between 1999 and his death in 2002 . For ten years before recording his first project with the Mescalaros, Strummer had kept a very low profile after experiencing incredible fame as the front man and rhythm guitarist of the Clash. By the time Joe and the Mescaleros completed their second record, Global A Go - Go in 2001, they were a well-honed group with their own distinctive sound and stance. Their final album, Streetcore, was being recorded at the time of Strummer's unexpected death in December of 2002, during which songs like “Coma Girl” and “Get Down Moses” were recorded. These fan - adored albums are considered to be his most admired work since the Clash years and capture the iconic front-man amidst an undeniable creative resurgence.

Street Dogs Frontman Mike McColgan To Play "Get Out The Rally"

Multi-Platinum Recording Artists Headline Rally June 1st

Mike McColgan, the lead singer of the Boston Punk band Street Dogs, and the original lead singer of the Dropkick Murphys will play alongside Grammy Award-winning guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, Tim McIlrath of the punk rock band Rise Against, and many others in Madison, Wisconsin this Friday, June 1st .

The artists are all hitting the stage in Madison in support of bringing out voters to the Wisconsin recall election with current Wisconsin governor, Gov. Scott Walker and challenger, Milwaukee Mayor, Tom Barrett.

About Get Out The Vote Rally:
The “Get Out The Vote’ Rally” is sponsored by We Are Wisconsin and will help to provide a massive boost to canvassing efforts days before the recall election on June 5. The event, which will be held at the Madison Labor Temple at 1602 S. Park St., is free to the public with a sign up to volunteer to help get out the vote. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

This summer the punk rock and psychobilly worlds rejoice as the two genres most prolific acts join forces for the first time to co-headline the TONIGHT WE UNITE! Tour. This much anticipated event features THE CASUALTIES and NEKROMANTIX as headliners with support from Down By Law, Lower Class Brats, Flatfoot 56, and The Sheds. The tour kicks off July 1st in Hollywood, Ca and wraps up on August 5th in Santa Ana, Ca. This is the must see punk rock event of the year. See below to view the tour’s complete routing.

RANCID'S TIM ARMSTRONG ANNOUNCES 'TIM TIMEBOMB'S ROCKNROLL THEATER'

Iconic musician and GRAMMY®Award winning producer Tim Armstrong today announced his creation of a new and original series entitled Tim Timebomb’s RockNRoll Theater. The debut episode will premier exclusively on VEVO, the world’s leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform, on October 21, 2011 with a trailer airing beginning on October 3, 2011.

“Doing a show centered on musical theatre isn’t really a stretch for me,” says Armstrong. “For 25 years I’ve been making music and collaborating with friends, been involved in hundreds of videos, and it’s really just a direct extension of my world.” Armstrong adds, “VEVO is the perfect partner to premiere the show because their platform is extensive and will bring lots of eyeballs to our show.”

"We are so thrilled Tim is bringing his passion project to VEVO," said Scott Reich, VP, Original Content and Programming at VEVO. "This is a big moment for both Tim and VEVO, as his RockNRoll Theater is the first time we've featured a character driven narrative. Tim has assembled a true cast of characters that could only come from rock 'n' roll. We can't wait to bring the tales of Tim Timebomb to VEVO fans!"

Homage to the classic American Musicals, Tim Timebomb’s RockNRoll Theater will center on Armstrong as today’s punk rock Rod Serling, leading and narrating suspenseful episodes with a variety of special guest actors and musicians. Each episode will feature extensive song and dance numbers with hard-hitting rock musical songs and rousing dance numbers all wrapped in a dark edge all written by Armstrong.

“I’ll play music til the day I die, and this takes everything in an exciting new direction,” Armstrong adds. “I love collaborating with other artists and all I want to do is continue to make these episodes. That’s the spirit of the project.”

The pilot episode of Tim Timebomb’s RockNRoll Theater entitled “Dante,” will bring the 14th Century epic poem, Dante’s Inferno, roaring into the 21th Century with a new take on greed and corporate corruption. The episode stars AFI frontman Davey Havok, guitarist and vocalist Lars Frederiksen of Rancid, and actor Robert David Hall known for his extensive work on CSI.

Tim Timebomb’s RockNRoll Theater marks the first scripted piece of original programming featured on VEVO, enriching the platform’s catalogue of 45,000 premium music videos, live performances and popular original series such as GO Shows (impromptu live performances held in venues meaningful to the featured artists like The Airborne Toxic Event, Kid Cudi and Florence + The Machine), Stylized (a series exploring how music and fashion mutually inspire) and ASK:REPLY (a live chat interview series).

Armstrong teamed up with longtime collaborator David Robertson who has also produced work for Eminem, Metallica, Britney Spears, and Madonna, to produce the series. Director Kevin Kerslake, best known for his work in forging the visual identity of the MTV generation through his work with Nirvana, Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid, directed and shot the pilot episode. Michael Rooney known for his multiple MTV Video Music awards for choreography, including Spike Jonze’s Fatboy Slim video for the song “Praise You” starring Christopher Walken, will choreograph the show. Mary Vernieu (Black Swan, Sin City, The Wrestler) will cast the series.

California trio, Nekromantix unleash their latest album of fiercely intense pyschobilly rock, What Happens In Hell, Stays In Hell. This dangerously spellbinding album careens into stores today via Hellcat Records and includes thirteen songs of scorching rock. Fans are invited to order the album at the Epitaph Store.

Led by captivating rock and roll rebel, Nekroman and his legendary coffin bass, along with guitarist Franc and the band’s first female drummer, Lux, the Nekromantix emerge at the forefront of powerful and haunting psychobilly sound, an intoxicating mixture of surging anthemic punk and seductive rock soaked in reverb.

The new record What Happens In Hell, Stays In Hell offers thirteen freewheeling tracks, including lead track “Bats In My Pants,” the riotous revelry moves along with the ominous anthem “Sleepwalker With A Gun,” followed by a tribute to the immortal Hollywood horror legend with “Bela Lugosi’s Star.”

Nekromantix are on tour now, rolling through North America in their hot-rod hearse through September.
